Which Official Minecraft Seeds Does Mojang Confirm?
Official Minecraft seeds: Mojang says both free trials last about 100 in-game minutes, yet its page names no seed. See who lists the numbers.

Table of Contents
π Quick answer: Mojang’s official seeds are the fixed Java demo seed (-343522682), the fixed Bedrock trial seed (1193926712), and Bedrock’s Seed Templates. Both seed numbers are REPORTED by the community-run Minecraft Wiki; Mojang’s trial page names no seed. Starter seeds are a fourth, game-code feature.
π Verified against: Minecraft Java 26.3 and Bedrock 26.50 (hotfix 26.52 noted), checked 9 October 2026 Β· Stability: Semi-stable.
What ‘official’ means for Minecraft seeds
Minecraft has no single list of official seeds. It has three Mojang-provided kinds, and each belongs to a particular edition.
Demo, trial or template: which do you need?
- Java Edition free trial: the demo seed.
- Bedrock Edition free trial: the trial seed.
- Bedrock’s world-creation screen: Seed Templates.
- A fourth item from the game’s code: starter seeds.
What this page covers and doesn’t
This page is source-verified, not hands-on tested. It ranks no seeds and describes no terrain.
Each claim carries its tier: CONFIRMED where Mojang says it, REPORTED where only the community-run wiki does. Whether an old seed still builds the same world is covered in our old-seeds guide.
Official Minecraft seeds at a glance
Four kinds of seed sit under the “official” label, and Mojang itself backs only some of them.
Fixed seeds and changing lists
| Seed type | Edition | Fixed or changing | Key detail | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Demo seed | Java | Fixed | Free-trial world | Trial CONFIRMED; seed REPORTED |
| Trial seed | Bedrock | Fixed, replaced over time | Free-trial world | Trial CONFIRMED; seed REPORTED |
| Seed Templates | Bedrock only | Changing list | Mojang calls it the seed picker | Feature CONFIRMED; list REPORTED |
| Starter seeds | Not stated | Edited over time | Predefined for trial and quick world creation | REPORTED |
Version note: Java 26.3, Bedrock 26.50, checked 9 October 2026.
Which rows Mojang has confirmed
Mojang’s trial page confirms both trials exist but names no seed. Its Seed Picker FAQ confirms the Bedrock picker. The community-run wiki backs everything else.
The Java demo seed and the Bedrock trial seed
Per the community-run Minecraft Wiki, every new trial world uses one fixed seed.

Java demo seed
π Unconfirmed β Reported: The Minecraft Wiki’s Demo mode page, read 9 Oct 2026, lists the Java demo seed as -343522682, the text seed “North Carolina”.
π Why it happens: Java turns typed text into a number; we computed that “North Carolina” gives -343522682, a calculation rather than an in-game test. Our text-seed guide explains the method.
Bedrock trial seed (current)
π Unconfirmed β Reported: The same page lists 1193926712 as the Bedrock trial seed since 1.18.30.
Retired Bedrock trial seeds
The wiki lists four earlier ones: 818010429, 29300, 1395001428 and 1537846859 (the Forest Glade template seed). Why a seed can look different after an update explains why old lists go stale.
How long the demo and trial last, and what they lock
Mojang says the Minecraft free trial lasts about 100 in-game minutes, roughly five in-game days, on both editions; the wiki differs for Bedrock.

What Mojang states
β Confirmed: Mojang’s free-trial page, read 9 Oct 2026 and undated: Survival mode only, no online servers, LAN allowed, length varying slightly by device.
Where the wiki differs
| Limit | Mojang (CONFIRMED) | Wiki (REPORTED) |
|---|---|---|
| Length | About 100 in-game minutes, both editions | Java 100 minutes; Bedrock 90 minutes real time |
| LAN | Allowed | Java allowed (one demo account); Bedrock none |
π Unconfirmed β Reported: Only the wiki adds: Java commands off by default; Bedrock achievements disabled, no importing add-ons, worlds or templates.
What stays unresolved
Mojang’s page gives no per-edition difference, so this is Mojang against the wiki. We haven’t tested either.
Bedrock Seed Templates: what Mojang confirms
Seed Templates are a Bedrock Edition feature, and the list, the count and the click path live in one place on this site.
Where to find the template list
The templates sit behind a button on Bedrock’s Create New World screen. The current list, each seed and the menu route are kept in our Bedrock seed templates guide, so this page doesn’t repeat them.
What Mojang says about it
β Confirmed: Mojang’s Seed Picker FAQ, read 9 Oct 2026 and undated, calls the picker a Bedrock exclusive offering seeds that spawn you in or near the biome or feature described. It gives an older menu route and never says “templates”.
Java Edition doesn’t have them
Per that FAQ the picker is Bedrock-only, so Java players enter a seed number themselves.
Starter seeds: what the wiki says, what Mojang hasn’t
Starter seeds come from the game’s code, and the wiki says Mojang has not otherwise used the term officially. Treat the list as a lookup, not as a Mojang-documented feature.
What the wiki says they are
π Unconfirmed β Reported: The Minecraft Wiki’s Starter Seeds page, read 9 Oct 2026, says several world seeds are predefined for the trial version and quick world creation. It lists 11 as current, defined in StarterSeeds.txt, with the trial seed listed separately.
What changed in 26.30
π Unconfirmed β Reported: Per the same page, version 1.21.120 removed nine starter seeds, and 26.30 merged the Creative and Survival seeds and removed a larger set. Mojang’s trial page doesn’t mention starter seeds.
Seeds that sound official but aren’t
Three mistakes cause most mismatches between a seed list and what the game shows.
Java and Bedrock don’t line up
The Java demo seed and the Bedrock trial seed are different numbers, so they are different worlds. How one number behaves across editions is covered in our Java vs Bedrock seeds guide.
What isn’t confirmed
Mojang’s Java 26.3 and Bedrock 26.50 release notes don’t mention demo, trial, template or starter seeds, so no source we found confirms whether those changed in that drop. Lists written before the 1.18.30 trial-seed change or the 26.30 starter-seed cut may show seeds that no longer apply.

What to do next
Mojang’s own pages confirm that the free trials and the Bedrock seed picker exist. The seed numbers behind them come from the community-run Minecraft Wiki. Check the stamp date at the top, because the trial seed and the starter-seed list can change with a game drop.
