Corrections Policy
We work hard to get every fact right, but mistakes can happen, and game details change often. This policy explains how to report an error, how we check it, and how we show you what changed.
Report an error
Email contact@thecheckpointcodex.com with the article link, the detail that is wrong, and a link to a source showing the correct information.
Our commitment
The Checkpoint Codex, published by KCS Global Group, builds every article from official, verifiable sources, as described in our Editorial Policy. When we get something wrong, we fix it openly. We never quietly change a fact without telling readers, and we treat every error report seriously, whoever sends it.
Corrections, updates and clarifications
Not every change is a mistake. We use three types of change notes so you always know why an article changed:
- Correction
We published something that was wrong when we published it, such as an incorrect price, date or edition detail.
- Update
Our article was accurate, but the facts changed afterwards. For example, a publisher delayed a game or changed an edition’s contents.
- Clarification
The facts were right, but our wording could be misread, so we made it clearer.
Fixing spelling, grammar or broken formatting, or replacing a link that has moved, does not change the facts, so these are made without a note.
How to report an error
Send an email to contact@thecheckpointcodex.com. We don’t use forms, so email is the only way to reach us. To help us act quickly, please include:
- The link to the article
- The exact sentence or detail you believe is wrong
- A link to an official or reliable source showing the correct information
You don’t need to include your full name, and we will not publish your name or email without your permission.
How we review reports
- We read every report during our office hours, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 18:00 IST.
- A team member checks the claim against the official source and the source you provided.
- If the report is correct, we fix the article and add the right change note.
- We reply to let you know what we found and what we changed. If we don’t agree the article is wrong, we explain why and share the source we relied on.
Most reports are reviewed within two business days. Reports about prices, release dates or anything that could affect a purchase are handled first.
How we show changes
Corrections and updates appear as a dated note at the end of the article. The article also shows its “Updated” date near the top. Here is what the notes look like:
Correction, October 2, 2026: An earlier version of this article listed the wrong price for the upgrade. The correct US price is shown above.
Update, October 9, 2026: The publisher has announced a new release date. This article has been updated with the new date.
Example notes for illustration only.
If a headline was wrong, we correct the headline too and mention it in the note.
Serious errors
If an error could have led readers to spend money or make a decision based on wrong information, for example a wrong price, release date, platform or edition content, we place the correction note at the top of the article instead of the end, so returning readers see it straight away.
If an article is so wrong that it can’t be fixed, we will replace it with a short note explaining why it was removed rather than deleting it without explanation.
When rumors turn out wrong
We label anything not officially confirmed as Reported or Unconfirmed, as explained in our Editorial Policy and Disclaimer. When a publisher later confirms or denies it, we add an update note and change the label, so it’s always clear what turned out to be true.
What this policy doesn’t cover
- Copyright, trademark or image concerns: email info@thecheckpointcodex.com, as explained in our Terms of Use.
- Personal data requests: see our Privacy Policy.
- Game purchases, refunds or account problems: please contact the publisher or store. We can’t help with these.
- Disagreements with our analysis: we’re happy to hear them, but a different opinion about whether an edition is worth buying is not a factual error.
