General information
All content on The Checkpoint Codex (thecheckpointcodex.com), published by KCS Global Group, is provided for general information only. It is not professional, financial or legal advice. Decisions about which games, editions, upgrades or hardware to buy are yours, and you use our content at your own risk.

How our content is made
We do not publish hands-on reviews, and we do not claim to have played the games we cover. Our articles are based on research and analysis of verifiable sources.
Those sources include official publisher and developer announcements, platform blogs, store listings, patch notes and age rating boards. We link to our sources inside articles so you can check them yourself. When we explain what a detail means for players, that analysis is our own interpretation of the official information.

Prices, dates and editions
Game information changes often. Publishers delay release dates, adjust prices, change edition contents and update features after launch. We update articles when we learn of changes, but there may be a delay between an official change and our update.
Always confirm the price, release date, edition contents and platform details with the official publisher or store before you buy or pre-order. Prices we mention are in US dollars and based on US store listings at the time of writing, unless stated otherwise.
Rumors, leaks and reports
We focus on confirmed information. When a detail has not been officially confirmed, we either leave it out or label it clearly so you know how reliable it is:
- Confirmed
- Announced by the publisher, developer, platform or rating board.
- Reported
- Published by a reliable news outlet but not yet confirmed officially.
- Unconfirmed
- A rumor or leak that may turn out to be wrong. We rarely cover these, and only when readers are already asking about them.
Reported and unconfirmed information may change or turn out to be false.
No affiliation
The Checkpoint Codex is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by or connected to any game publisher, developer, platform holder or retailer, including Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation), Microsoft (Xbox), Nintendo, Valve (Steam), Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
Mentioning a company, game or product does not mean that company has reviewed, approved or supported our content.
Trademarks and copyright
Game titles, characters, logos, artwork, trailers and screenshots are trademarks or copyrighted works of their respective owners. All rights belong to them. We use game and company names only to identify the games and products we are reporting on.
Our own articles, text and site design belong to KCS Global Group. How you may use them is explained in our Terms of Use.
Images and media
Because we do not play the games we cover, we do not publish our own gameplay screenshots. Where we show game images, they come from official press materials, publisher websites or store listings, and we credit the source. Some images on the site are our own graphics or licensed stock images.
If you own an image on our site and want it credited differently or removed, email info@thecheckpointcodex.com with the page link and proof of ownership. We review every request promptly.
Age ratings
Many games we cover are rated for teens or adults and may contain violence, strong language or other mature content. Covering a game is not a recommendation that it suits every player. Parents and players can check official age ratings and content descriptors at the ESRB.
External links
Our articles link to official sources, stores and other websites so you can verify our research. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, prices, availability, security or privacy practices. Visiting them is at your own risk, under their own terms.
Advertising
The Checkpoint Codex shows advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense, to keep our content free. Ads are selected and served by third parties. An ad appearing on our site does not mean we recommend or endorse the product, service or company.
Advertisers have no say in which games we cover or what we conclude. How advertising cookies work and how to opt out of personalized ads is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Affiliate links
We do not currently use affiliate links. If we add them in the future, for example links to game stores that pay us a commission, we will update this page and clearly label those links in any article that contains them. Commissions will never decide what we cover or recommend.
Errors and corrections
Our team of seven researches and reviews every article, but mistakes can still happen. If you find an error, email contact@thecheckpointcodex.com with the article link and a source for the correct information. Our Corrections Policy explains how we review and fix mistakes.
